Dame Frances Anne Cairncross, DBE (born 30 August 1944 in Otley, England) is a British economist, journalist and academic. She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh and a Senior Fellow at the School of Public Policy, UCLA. She chairs the Executive Committee of the Institute for Fiscal Studies. From 1973-1984, Cairncross was on the staff of The Guardian newspaper. She was its as economics correspondent from 1973-1981 and women's page editor from 1981-1984. Previous to her time at The Guardian she worked at The Times (1967-69) The Banker (1969) and The Observer (1970-73). She was on the staff of The Economist from 1984-2004 working in roles covering the environment, media and public policy. From 1999-2004 she was management editor. She chaired the Economic and Social Research Council between 2001 and 2007 and was President of the British Science Association (2005–06). Her book, The Company of the Future, was published in 2002 by Harvard Business School Press. In March 2003, she won the Institute of Internal Auditors' annual award for business and management journalism. Cairncross is also the author of The Death of Distance, a study of the economic and social effects of the global communications revolution. In 2004-05, Cairncross held the honorary post of High Sheriff of Greater London. More

Richard Alva Cavett (born November 19, 1936) is an American television personality and former talk show host notable for his conversational style and in-depth discussions. He appeared regularly on nationally broadcast television in the United States in five consecutive decades, the 1960s through the 2000s. In later years, Cavett wrote a column for the online New York Times, promoted DVDs of his former shows as well as a book of his Times columns, and hosted replays of his TV interviews with Groucho Marx, Katharine Hepburn, Judy Garland, Marlon Brando, John Lennon, and others on Turner Classic Movies. In his capacity as talent coordinator for The Tonight Show, Cavett was sent to the Blue Angel nightclub to see Woody Allen's act, and immediately afterward struck up a friendship. Cavett continued with The Tonight Show as a writer after Johnny Carson assumed hosting duties. For Carson he wrote the line "Having your taste criticized by Dorothy Kilgallen is like having your clothes criticized by Emmett Kelly." He even appeared on the show once, to do a gymnastics routine on the pommel horse. After departing The Tonight Show, Cavett wrote for Jerry Lewis. Intermittently since 1968, Cavett has been host of his own talk show, in various formats and on various television and radio networks. More

Peter Deriabin (1921-1992) was a Russian Communist Party member, World War II veteran, SMERSH agent, and KGB agent who later defected to the United States. He started working for the Central Intelligence Agency, went to graduate school, and wrote several books on the KGB. He died in 1992 at age 71. He was a member of the Communist Party. He went to Biysk Teachers College as well as the Institute for Marxism-Leninism. In World War II he was wounded four times and reassigned to the Soviet Navy's SMERSH (military counterintelligence group). He was later an investigator in State Security. He eventually moved up to the KGB headquarters. In 1953 he was stationed in Vienna, Austria as Chief of Soviet Counterintelligence as well as Communist Party boss for the entire Austro-German section. In 1954 he defected to the United States. In retaliation, the Military Collegium of the Supreme Court of the USSR gave him a death sentence. He testified before the Senate and the HUAC in 1959, and co-wrote a book about his time in the KGB. He also went to graduate school at the University of Michigan and the University of Virginia. He also joined the CIA. Deriabin retired from the CIA in 1981. More

Alan Morton Dershowitz (born September 1, 1938) is an American lawyer and academic. He is a scholar of United States constitutional law and criminal law and a noted civil libertarian. He began his teaching career at Harvard Law School where, in 1967, at the age of 28, he became the youngest full professor of law in its history. He held the Felix Frankfurter professorship there from 1993 until his retirement in December 2013, and has been a regular media contributor, political commentator, and legal analyst. He is also a prominent voice on the Arab–Israeli conflict and has written a number of books on the subject. Much of his legal career has focused on criminal law. His clients have included high-profile figures Patty Hearst, Harry Reems, Leona Helmsley, Jim Bakker, Mike Tyson, Michael Milken, O.J. Simpson and Kirtanananda Swami. Dershowitz reportedly was one of Nelson Mandela's lawyers. More
