Joan Peters (née Friedman; April 29, 1936 – January 5, 2015), was a journalist and broadcaster. She wrote the 1984 book From Time Immemorial, a controversial account of the origins of the Palestinians. In the 1970s and early 1980s, Peters wrote for magazines and was a consultant in the creation of CBS news documentaries in 1973 about the Israeli–Palestinian conflict, and provided commentary on the subject for PBS. Her dedication to the cause of Israel may have been triggered by a visit in the 1970s to the Soviet Union, where officials treated her and her husband with suspicion. According to the Walker Agency, which booked speaking and touring engagements for her, Peters also served as an adviser to the White House on American foreign policy in the Middle East during the Carter administration. In From Time Immemorial (1984), she argued that Palestinians are largely not indigenous to modern Israel and therefore have no claim to its territory. The book, a bestseller, became controversial. Scholars and writers such as Norman Finkelstein, Noam Chomsky, Edward Said, Yehoshua Porath. and Ian and David Gilmour criticized it. Shortly before her death, the Israeli ambassador to the United Nations, Ron Prosor, telephoned to convey to her that Israel's prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu was deeply grateful for her work. More

"Laugh, Cry and Remember" is the personal experience of a kid from Brooklyn, a civilian-turned-soldier in WWII, who trod the stony uphill path where the WAAC/WAC was the unwitting avant-garde for women's rights. Initially occupied with secret charts & graphs, she became a poster designer for recruitment while fighting the battle of heartache at the sight of men torn from hearth and home. From enlistment day through many posts and Army schools, Pollard's laughter and tears exemplifies the commitment of those members of the first permanent female Forces who changed forever women's roles in the defense of our nation. New York: PublicAffairs, 2015. Seventh printing [stated]. Trade paperback. ix, [1], 243, [3] pages. Extra Reading. Peter Pomerantsev (born 1977) is a Soviet-born British journalist, author and TV producer. He is a Senior Fellow at the Institute of Global Affairs at the London School of Economics, where he co-directs the Arena program. He is also an associate editor at Coda Media, a position he has held since at least 2015. Pomerantsev has written two books about Russian disinformation and propaganda: Nothing Is True and Everything Is Possible (2014) and This Is Not Propaganda (2019). Starting in 2011, Pomerantsev wrote about Russia, with articles in Newsweek, The Atlantic Monthly and other magazines. He coined the term "post-modern dictatorship" to describe Vladimir Putin's regime. Pomerantsev's memoir of his time in Russia, Nothing is True and Everything is Possible: Adventures in Modern Russia, was released by Faber and Faber in the UK in 2015 and Public Affairs in the US in 2014 (where it is known as Nothing is True and Everything is Possible: The Surreal Heart of the New Russia). It has since been translated into over a dozen languages. In the book Pomerantsev provides insight into how the Russian state apparatus uses "black PR" to manipulate truth, while the Russian public — accustomed to the lies of the Soviet regime — remain cynical and assume that all of "Kremlin's reality is scripted". Pomerantsev was project chair for the Information Warfare Initiative of the Center for European Policy Analysis. He also led the Beyond Propaganda program within the Legatum Institute's Transitions Forum, where he was a Senior Fellow. More

Mr. Karl Prussion is a former FBI undercover agent, author, and speaker who wrote a controversial book dealing with alleged communism in California. He published HEADS UP, a monthly anti-Communist newsletter, and was a former Communist and FBI undercover operative, having served in this capacity for 12 years. He "came to the surface": on August 12, 1959, and testified before the House Committee on Un-American Activities in 1960. Karl Prussion was a man who was born into a communist family and named after Karl Marx. He was recruited into the CPUSA in his senior year of college in 1933. He apparently started having doubts as early as two years after and in 1938 the Dies Committee identified him as a communist. Prussion stated that from 1947 to 1959 he served as an informant for the FBI when he resigned to go public, as he believed that the United States was losing the battle. When people would write to the FBI about whether his story was true, all the FBI would do was verify that he was a paid informant from November 1949 to July 1958. He testified as a friendly witness before the House Committee on Un-American Activities in San Francisco on May 13, 1960 in the midst of the City Hall student “riots” in which students attempted to storm the hearings but were sprayed with fire hoses. Some page browning. Vidkun Abraham Lauritz Jonssøn Quisling (18 July 1887–24 October 1945) was a Norwegian military officer, politician, and Nazi collaborator who nominally headed the government of Norway during the occupation of the country by Nazi Germany during World War II. He first came to international prominence organizing humanitarian relief during the Russian famine of 1921. He was posted as a Norwegian diplomat to the Soviet Union, and for some time also managed British diplomatic affairs there. He returned to Norway in 1929, and served as Minister of Defence in the governments of Peder Kolstad (1931–32) and Jens Hundseid (1932–33). In 1933, Quisling founded the fascist party Nasjonal Samling. His party failed to win any seats in the Storting and by 1940 it was little more than peripheral. On 9 April 1940, with the German invasion of Norway in progress, he attempted to seize power in the world's first radio- broadcast coup d'état, but failed after the Germans refused to support his government. From 1942 to 1945 he served as Prime Minister of Norway, heading the Norwegian state administration jointly with the German civilian administrator Josef Terboven. The collaborationist government participated in Germany's Final Solution, a genocidal program targeting Jews. Quisling was put on trial after World War II. He was found guilty of charges including embezzlement, murder and high treason against the Norwegian state, and was executed. More
