Kenneth Sydney Davis (September 29, 1912 – June 10, 1999) was an American historian, most renowned for his series of biographies of Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Davis also wrote the first biography of General Dwight D. Eisenhower, entitled Dwight D. Eisenhower: Soldier of Democracy. Davis was a war correspondent attached to General Eisenhower's headquarters during World War II, a member of the UNESCO Relations Staff of the State Department, and a professor of history. He also worked as speech writer for Adlai Stevenson during the 1956 campaign. Davis was awarded the prestigious Francis Parkman Prize in 1973 for his book FDR: The Beckoning of Destiny. His next two volumes on Roosevelt were chosen as among the 10 best books of the year by The New York Times. More

From 1996 to 1998, he served as a special counsel to President Bill Clinton, and was a spokesperson for the President and the White House on matters concerning campaign-finance investigations and other legal issues. In 2005, President George W. Bush appointed Davis to serve on the five-member Privacy and Civil Liberties Oversight Board. Davis's clients have included the National Women's History Museum, National Black Chamber of Commerce, Sofitel Hotels, Trent Lott, Gene Upshaw, Dan Snyder, Martha Stewart and the Office of the President at Penn State University. Davis is a Fox News Contributor and has a column called "Purple Nation" that appears regularly in The Hill, The Huffington Post, FoxNews, and Newsmax. He is a graduate of Yale Law School. More

While Ronald Reagan was running for governor of California, Deaver worked as a political field representative for the California Republican Party. After being elected governor, Reagan's chief of staff recruited Deaver to the administration where he began a 30-year career working for Reagan, and building a very close friendship with him and Nancy Reagan.
