DJ has some wear and soiling, especially at lower back near spine. Jerry Blaine is a former U.S. Secret Service Agent and one of the country’s leading experts in high-level, high profile security. In 1959, Jerry Blaine was hired as a Special Agent of the United States Secret Service, and was handpicked to serve on the elite White House Secret Service Detail, the team responsible for protecting President Dwight D. Eisenhower. When John F. Kennedy was elected in November 1960, Blaine was transferred to the President-elect detail and, for the next three years, traveled with President Kennedy all over the world—through Europe and Central America, from Hyannis Port to Palm Beach. President Kennedy’s assassination on November 22, 1963 threw the country and the White House into sudden turmoil and despair. Abruptly, the Kennedy Detail became the Johnson Detail. There was no time to grieve, no time to deal with feelings of anger, frustration and guilt; and Lyndon B. Johnson was no John F. Kennedy. On July 4, 1964, Jerry Blaine resigned from the Secret Service to join the private sector. More

"Jim" Grant (born 29 October 1954), primarily known by his pen name Lee Child, is a British author who writes thriller novels, and is most well-known for his Jack Reacher novel series. The books follow the adventures of a former American military policeman, Jack Reacher, who wanders the United States. His first novel, Killing Floor, won both the Anthony Award, and the Barry Award for Best First Novel. 1997, his first novel, Killing Floor, was published, and he moved to the United States in the summer of 1998. His pen name "Lee" comes from a family joke about a heard mispronunciation of the name of Renault's Le Car, as 'Lee Car'. Grant has said that he chose the name Reacher for the central character in his novels because he himself is tall and when they were grocery shopping his wife Jane remarked: "'Hey, if this writing thing doesn't pan out, you could always be a reacher in a supermarket.' Some books in the Reacher series are written in first person, while others are written in the third person. In 2007, Grant collaborated with 14 other writers to create the 17-part serial thriller The Chopin Manuscript, narrated by Alfred Molina. In 2009, Grant funded 52 Jack Reacher scholarships for students at the university. Grant was elected president of the Mystery Writers of America in 2009. More

The #1 New York Times bestseller, on the list for 24 weeks! President Jack Ryan faces a world crisis unlike any he has ever known, in Tom Clancy's extraordinary new novel....A high-level assassination attempt in Russia has the newly elected Ryan sending his most trusted eyes and ears--including antiterrorism specialist John Clark--to Moscow, for he fears the worst is yet to come. And he's right. The attempt has left the already unstable Russia vulnerable to ambitious forces in China eager to fulfill their destiny--and change the face of the world as we know it... Time and again, Tom Clancy's novels have been praised not only for their big-scale drama and propulsive narrative drive, but for their cutting-edge prescience in predicting future events. In The Bear and The Dragon, Jack Ryan has found that being President has gotten no easier. Domestic pitfalls await him at every turn, there's a revolution in Liberia, the Asian economy is going down the tubes, and now, in Moscow, someone may have tried to take out the chairman of the SVR - the former KGB - with a rocket-propelled grenade. Were they political enemies, the Russian Mafia, disaffected former KGB? For even while he dispatches his most trusted eyes and ears, including black ops specialist John Clark, to find out the truth of the matter, forces in China are moving ahead with a plan of truly audacious proportions. If they succeed, the world as we know it will never look the same. If they fail--the consequences will be unspeakable. More
