The doctrine presented in this manual is basically concerned with nuclear weapon employment within the field army and the Fleet Marine Force. When the manual discusses special ammunition logistics and vulnerability analyses, the scope is extended to include the area of operations. Guidance is presented for the employment of nuclear weapons in the attack of targets on or near the earth’s surface.
