Loyall Farragut graduated from West Point in 1868, and served as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army before resigning in 1872. He spent most of the remainder of his career as an executive with the Central Railroad Company of New Jersey. He was an hereditary member of the Military Society of the War of 1812 and a companion of the Military Order of the Loyal Legion of the United States. More
