The Living White House was first published in 1966, and it has been updated periodically with changes in administrations. Mrs. Aikman also wrote, "We the People, the Story of the United States Capitol. She began working for the National Geographic Society in 1929 as a secretary and educational assistant. She later wrote for the society's news service, then joined the senior editorial staff. She wrote 13 articles for National Geographic magazine between 1951 and 1983 on subjects ranging from the Daughters of the American Revolution to the U.S. Census. More
