The manual described the organization of and provides specific doctrine on the functions and operations of the brigade headquarters and headquarters company of the infantry, airborne, and mechanized brigades. This includes command, control, communications, tactical and administrative support, organization for combat, and tactical operations of the infantry, airborne, and mechanized brigades of the army divisions and, with appropriate adjustments for minor organizational differences, the separate brigade organized for combat with a preponderance of infantry, mechanized infantry, or airborne battalions.
