Cracks at joints. This is an imperfect copy. Binding is contemporary calfgilt; several pieces of the leather binding are missing. Contains 23 double-page maps and plans in volume I, and 16 double-page plans in volume II, as well as several other small engraved illustrations. The double-pageplan after page 138 is bound in upside down. Pages 146 and 147 in volume II are misnumbered as 142 and 143, but this portion of the text is complete. Pages 227-230 are missing from volume II; this appears to be a printing defect, as there is no evidence that pages were cut from the volume. Subtitled: A particular Description of the several Battles, Sieges, &c. in which either or both those Generals commanded. Collected from the best Authors in all Languages. To which is added a Supplement, Containing A succinct Account of the remarkable Events which happened in the late War, and wherein neither of the Illustrious General above-mentioned had any Share, particularly in Spain. From One thousand seven hundred and one, to One thousand seven hundred and six. The Whole illustrated with Variety of Copper Plates of Battles, Sieges, Plans, &c. carefully engraven by Claude du Bosc. This is a difficult title to obtain in any condition. While there are no obvious signs that plates/illustrations have been removed, bibliographic descriptions of this title indicate that there may have been copies printed with more illustrations and plates. Price reflects the noted defects. Condition: as is.
