London: Longmans, Green and Company, 1920-23. 22 cm, 1388 + maps, v.1-3 complete (maps & text) of the 5-vol. set, illus., maps, usual library markings, map #14 missing from v.1 map volume. Boards somewhat worn, soiled, and some sticker/label residue. The complete 3-volume set written by Sir Julian Stafford Corbett, one of the premier naval authorities of his era. After Corbett's death, Sir Henry John Newbolt wrote volumes 4 and 5 (not present). Volume I (text) covers the war to the Battle of the Falklands; Volume II (maps) should contain 17 maps, but is missing map #14. Volume II (text and maps) covers the Dardanelles. Volume III (text) covers from spring 1915 to the Battle of Jutland; Volume III (maps) contains 46 maps. Condition: fair, ex-lib.
