Angry Harvest

New York: Thomas Y. Crowell, 1958. 491, DJ worn, torn, chipped, and soiled. Inscribed by the author (Hermann Field). This novel was also made into a film directed by Agnieszka Holland, which was nominated for an Academy Award. Field was emeritus professor of political science and founder of Tuft's urban and environmental policy department. Field (an American architect) and his co-author (a Polish newspaper man) were held captive together in a post-World War II detention center. Together they planned and wrote this novel, partly in English and partly in Polish. The work is, of course, autobiographical fiction. Condition: good, poor.
