This report is a survey of organizations with space and space-related programs and their interrelationships. The publication of this document was timed to occur during International Cooperation Year (1965). This report analyzes the impact of the frontier of outer space uponU.S. foreign relations; bilateral and multilateral relations among nations; the relationship between outer space and arms control; international economic, technical, and scientific developments; and policies and programspursued within the United Nations and its specialized agencies. This reportwas prepared by Mrs. Eilene Galloway, a specialist in the Foreign Affairs Division of the Legislative Reference Service of the Library of Congress. Mrs. Galloway had previously served as Special Consultant to the Senate Special Committee on Space and Astronautics (appointed by Senator Lyndon B. Johnson). This is a remarkable snapshot taken less than a decade after the launch of Sputnik and half a decade before the United States landed a man on the moon and returned him safely to earth. Condition: good.
