The instructions contain information on the installation, operation, and organizational maintenance of Auxiliary Interphone Equipment AN/VIA-1. This equipment is installed in certain tanks and armored vehicles to provide communicaiton to an external interphone box. By means of this external station, communication is provided over a distance of 40 feet between the crew of the vehicle and infantry in close support and between crews of various vehicles during radio silence.
