Safe in America: A Novel

Place_Pub: New York: HarperCollins, 1995. First Edition. First Printing. 285, Inscribed by the author. This novel follows three generations of the Eichenbaum family. It begins in 1967 when Evan, the patriarch of the family, suffers a heart attack. The narration then moves back to the 1930's and early 1940's--from the attempt to rescue European Jewish relatives from the Nazis, to confrontations with American immigration law. As the narrative moves forward in time, the family struggles with the equally perilous challenges of the draft, and later, AIDS. Condition: very good, very good.
