Preface by the Archivist of the United States. Book I (November 22, 1963 to June 30, 1964) covers the period of the Presidential transition after the Kennedy assassination; Book II (July 1 to December 31, 1964) covers material on civil rights, labor relations, and economic growth, among many other topics. This copy was owned by Claude Desautels (1921-1982) who served as Special Assistant to the President for Congressional Relations (1961-1966); his name, along with a presidential seal, is stamped in gold lettering on the front of the box. The White House calling card signed by President Johnson ("Lyndon B. Johnson") is inside a somewhat creased envelope which has a small tear in the upper corner. Condition: very good.
