This material was prepared and written about 1946 by the Historical Section fo the then Army Security Agency. The U. S. Government provided the editon, through the National Archives, an unclassified or "sanatized" version of the cited "Historical Background". On occasion, "blank pages: and frequently censored 'gaps' occured in the text. In these cases, the editor made reference to other unclassified sources, and especilly to Yardley's The American Black Chamber, to fill in the gaps. Condition: Very good. No dust jacket as issued.
