James Brown Scott [1866-1943], founding dean of the USC law school in 1896, was one of America's most noted international law experts. He became a member of the International Law Institute in 1910 and became its President in 1920. He was secretary general of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace for 35 years, as well as solicitor of the State Department and longtime editor of the American Journal of International Law. He was delegate to the Hague Peace Conferences of 1899 and 1907 and the Paris Peace Conference after World War I. Condition: Good. No dust jacket. Cover has some wear and soiling.
