Topeka, KS: The Boys' Chronicle, n.d. 210, illus., map, roster, most pages have darkened somewhat, some soiling to boards and spine, Dornbusch #1173. This unit started out as "The Kansas Battery" in the Civil War. There is a brief reference (pp. 1-2): "At the time of the Spanish American War the battery was organized and prepared to go as a unit, but through some technical trouble with the War Department, they were not received into the army as a battery and the members enlisted as individuals. However, practically every member of the battery at the time saw service in either Cuba or the Philippines or both. " Some veterans of the Spanish-American War volunteered to serve in World War I, such as Gus Leander (p. 4). Condition: fair to good.
