The author, who died in 1986, was a 1944 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy. After graduation he served in the Amphibious Forces, attended submnarine school and the served aboard the Cusk and Pomfret and then commanded the Remora. After graduating from the Naval War College he served in OPNAV, worked in the Naval Reactors Branchy and then commanded the Snook. Following that he commanded the Fleet Ballistic Submarine Theodore Roosevelt. He was medically retired in 1971. He was active in the Carter Adminitration as an energy advisor. He served on the Presidential Task Force on Energy Policy and on the National Advisory voard of the Alliance to Save Energy. Condition: Very good in good dust jacket. Pencil erasure residue on fep. DJ has some wear, soiling, and tears.
