This is one of the series of works that commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of the United States Army in the Second World War. This work focuses on the US Army's disastrous campaign in the Philippines, 1941-2. The fate of the defenders was sealed when the Japanese crippled the US Pacific Fleet at Pearl Harbor on Dec 7, 1941 & destroyed US air assets in the Philippines a few hours later. This left the defenders of the islands isolated in the heart of a Japanes dominated Pacific with little chance of resupply or reinforcement. Condition: Very good. Cover has some sticker residue.
