The author entered the army in 1966. After graduating from Officers Candidate School, he was assigned to the upcountry jungle of Vietnam, where he had the experiences he writes of in this book. He displayed bravery and leadershp and was awared four Purple Hearts, the Bronze Star with Valor, and the Silver Star. After leaving the military he joined the Veterans Admiistration. The loss of his arm has not proven to be a significant impediment in his civilian pursuits. Condition: Good / Good.
