The Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex is the visitor center at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida. It features exhibits and displays, historic spacecraft and memorabilia, shows, two IMAX theaters, and a range of bus tours of the spaceport. "Space Shuttle Atlantis" is home to the real Space Shuttle Atlantis orbiter and the Shuttle Launch Experience, a simulated ride into space. Until recently, the center now provides astronaut training experiences, including a multi-axial chair and Mars Base simulator. The visitor complex also has daily presentations from a veteran NASA astronaut. A bus tour, included with admission, encompasses the separate Apollo/Saturn V Center. There were 1.7 million visitors to the visitor complex in 2016. Delaware North operates Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, helping NASA educate, inspire and inform guests about the country’s space program. The guest experience includes tours of Kennedy Space Center, larger-than-life IMAX films, live shows, hands-on activities and Shuttle Launch Experience. What’s more, in June 2013, Delaware North opened the doors to Space Shuttle Atlantis – a $100 million exhibit that not only showcases the retired shuttle as it’s never been seen before, but also celebrates the rich history of the United States space program. It all began with a simple idea based on a foundation of service. In 1915, brothers Marvin, Charles and Louis Jacobs took the first step toward realizing the American dream by establishing a modest vending business in Buffalo, N.Y. Through hard work, dedication and innovative thinking, that small business has grown into one of the largest and most successful hospitality companies in the world. The legacy endures today through Chairman Jeremy Jacobs – a son of one of the founding Jacobs brothers – and his three sons, who are all company chief executive officers. Condition: Very good.
