It has been published continuously since its first issue in 1888, nine months after the Society itself was founded. It primarily contains articles about geography, history, and world culture. The magazine is known for its extensive use of dramatic photographs. The magazine is published monthly, and additional map supplements are also included with subscriptions. On occasion, special editions of the magazine are issued. The first issue of National Geographic Magazine was published on September 22, 1888, nine months after the Society was founded. Starting with its January 1905 publication of several full-page pictures of Tibet in 1900–1901, the magazine changed from being a text-oriented publication to featuring extensive pictorial content. Included in this issue are: Seville, More Spanish Than Spain with 35 illustrations by Richard Ford; On the Bypaths of Spain with 52 illustrations by Harry A. McBride; Color Camera Records of Spain, In Andalusia, Home of Song and Sunshine, Glories Past and Present in the North, Scenes Along the Shores of the Mediterranean with 40 Natural-Color Photographs by Gervais Courtellemont; and Barcelona, Pride of the Catalans with 32 illustrations by Harriet Chalmers Adams (an American explorer, writer and photographer. She published accounts of her journeys in the National Geographic.) Harriet Chalmers Adams (October 22, 1875 – July 17, 1937) was an American explorer, writer and photographer. Condition: Good.
