It has been published continuously since its first issue in 1888, nine months after the Society itself was founded. It primarily contains articles about geography, history, and world culture. The magazine is known for its extensive use of dramatic photographs. The magazine is published monthly, and additional map supplements are also included with subscriptions. On occasion, special editions of the magazine are issued. This issue includes: History Keeps House in Virginia with 38 Illustrations (25 in Natural Colors) by Howell Walker; Space Satellites, Tools of Earth Research with Map and 28 Illustrations (4 Paintings in Color) by Heinz Haber and William N. Palmstrom; Lake District Poets' Corner of England with Map and 29 Illustrations (19 in Natural Colors) by H. V. Morton and David S. Boyer; Ifalik, Lonely Paradise of the South Seas with Map and 33 Illustrations (29 in Natural Colors) by Marston Bates; and New Life for India's Villagers with 15 Illustrations by Anthony Chapelle and Georgette Dickey Chapelle. Heinz Haber (May 15, 1913 – February 13, 1990) was a German physicist and science writer who primarily became famous for his TV programs and books about physics and environmental subjects. His lucid style of explaining hard science has frequently been imitated by later popular science presenters in Germany. Condition: Very good.
