1st International Radioinformatics Symposium; Sponsored by the Armed Forces Radiobiology Research Institute and the Uniformed Services University

Katherine Brown (Artist), and Dave Morse (Photogra Bethesda, Maryland: Uniformed Services University, Armed Forces Radiobiology Research Institute, 2011. Presumed First Edition, first printing thus. Brochure. Brochure (measuring approximately 10.5 inches by 8.5 inches, folded in thirds). Printed on both sides. Ink notations and cross-outs on third page of the Agenda). This Symposium occurred on May 12-13, 2011. The pamphlet contains the agenda for Tuesday, May 12 (Session 1: Radiation Biology: The Science; Session 2: 'Omics for Radiation Biology; Session 3: Applied Radiation Biology: Platforms & Technology; Session 4: Artificial Intelligence and High-throughput Technologies for Radiation Biology; and for Wednesday May 13, Session 5: Technologies and Applications for Radiation Biology; Session 6: Technologies Blitz; and Session 7: Governing the Science of Tomorrow.) The Symposium Chair was Dr. Adrash Ramakumar. This symposium coincided with the 50th anniversary of the Armed Forces Radiobiology Research Institute and there was a Steering Committee that coordinated the recognition of this half-century event. Dr. Ramakumar conceptualized, designed and conducted the 1st International RadioInformatics symposium in 2011 with more than 175 guest from all parts of the world. RadioInformatics; application of Bioinformatics to solve the needs of radiation biology was a direct product and conceptualization of my passion to bioinformatics and entrepreneurial spirits to push the boundaries of science with cross-platform technologies to address critical unanswered science. Radiology informatics, also referred to as imaging informatics, is a subspecialty of radiology concerned with applying information science to radiology. Imaging informatics is part of the larger field of clinical informatics which is in turn part of biomedical informatics. Radiology informatics has some overlap with specific parts of the fields of medical physics, computer science, data science, and cognitive science. Condition: Fair.
