He also owned and ran the military miniatures company, Scale Specialties. The years immediately following the conclusion of World war I were time of much concern as to the development of tanks and tank tactics in Germany. Much controversy raged among the military men of the world dealing with the employment of the tank in future battles. Although there was limited development of tanks in Germany after the First World War, the interval from that period until 1933, when all restrictions were disregarded, caused a technological lag on the part of industry, since they were not allowed to produce war materials in quantity. The year 1933 is significant in the story of German tank development, marking the beginning of German competition in the armored field. By the end of the war, Hitler's personal interest in tank design bordered on fantasy, and he personally ordered studies to be made for the design and construction of a 1,000 ton tank. Condition: Good.
