He was also the editor of Indian Author and the Secretary-General of the Poetry Society, New Delhi. He was the author of a number of literary, travel and bibliographical works. This is the author's s second book of poems. The author's poems reveal his poetic and passionate responses to environment. Poems on social life, women, mystic experiences and world situations express his intense feelings for the world around him. The bazaar scenes, problems of the old, sick, poor, the prosperous and the cruel, and the play of nature are depicted in detail with flashes of surprise and satire. A section reveals his sufferings and hard life and the moments of great calm and peace. Poems on mystic experiences and desire for the unknown form yet one more section. Kaul instituted the All-India Poetry Competition in 1988. Kaul died of COVID at the age of 79 in 2020.
