The book discussed that Earth Came from the Stars, Early Man Reached Skyward, Primitive Ideas About Earth, The Moon--Earth's Faithful Companion, Adam Has Learned a Few Things, and Legends of Earth. The author was a statistical assistance to Colonel Leonard T. Ayres. Leonard Porter Ayres was an American statistician, educator and researcher. He ultimately held the rank of Brigadier General in the United States Army. He was the chief statistician on the General Staff. The author then took on statistical work at the University of Chicago. The author had abundant experience in "picturing the facts in diagram' and was a skilled in draftsmanship. This work, aimed at youth in a formative stage of their development, presents its material so dramatically that, even without the text, the picture and their captions give a vivid comprehension of the main facts about our universe.
