References. Arthur Rodgers is a seismologist in the Atmospheric, Earth and Energy Division at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. Hrvoje Tkal i studied physics and geophysics at the University of Zagreb, from which he obtained a Diploma of Engineering in Physics in 1996. He continued his postgraduate study at the University of California at Berkeley in the Department of Earth and Planetary Science. He was employed as a research assistant at the UC Berkeley Seismological Laboratory (1997-2001), as a postdoctoral fellow at the Institute of Geophysics and Planetary Physics of the University of California San Diego (2002-03), and as a postdoctoral researcher at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in Livermore, California (2003-06). Dr. McCallen was at the University of Nevada at Reno. He previously worked for the University of California (UC) related to the UC National Laboratories at Lawrence Livermore Lab and Lawrence Berkeley Lab. His career started in the Structural and Applied Mechanics Group at Livermore where he developed computational software and performed advanced simulations. His responsibilities extended to leadership of major programs including Engineering Division Leader for the National Ignition Facility, Nuclear Systems Program Leader and Deputy Principal Associate Director for Global Security. As part of a multidisciplinary program for Enhanced Test Site Readiness, this report summarized efforts to predict ground motions in Las Vegas Valley for possible future nuclear explosions at the Nevada Test Site. this effort provides ground motion time series to engineers for the evaluation of structural response and human perceptions. The approach relied heavily on historical recording made in Las Vegas of nuclear explosions at NTS. Among the topics addressed are: Nevada Test Site, Nuclear Weapon Tests, Nuclear Explosions, Ground Motion, Earthquake, Little Skull Mountain, Elastic Finite Difference Modeling, Time-Series, Teleseismic, P-wave, S-Wave, Microtremor, Geotechnical Shear Wave, and Geologic Modeling. Condition: Very good / No dust jacket issued.
