Jim Marshall's business card laid in. Roger Steffens (born June 17, 1942) is an American actor, author, lecturer, editor, reggae archivist, photographer and, producer. Six rooms of his home in Los Angeles house reggae archives, which include the world's largest collection of Bob Marley material. Based on these archives Steffens lectures internationally with a multi-media presentation called The Life of Bob Marley. His radio career began in New York City in 1961, and he co-hosted Reggae Beat on KCRW in Los Angeles and was syndicated on 130 stations worldwide in the 1980s. Steffens was named "Most Popular Reggae DJ in the World" by Martin's International Awards in Chicago, 1985, and "One of the Forty Who Matter in L.A." by the Los Angeles Reader. Jim "Reggae" Marshall stated that he has been blessed to take about 130,000 Reggae and African concert photographs over 31 years. He collects and enable other collectors of ANY thing related to Ethiopia, Haile Selassie I, Reggae, Rastafari, Jamaica and Africa. The World of Reggae featuring Bob Marley: Treasures from Roger Steffens' Reggae Archives presents highlights nearly a hundred Jamaican artists and musical developments, telling the story of those who took Reggae from its small island roots and transformed it into a global culture. Selected from the internationally renowned collection of Reggae authority Roger Steffens, the exhibition covers forty years of Jamaican musical history, beginning with Ska and moving through the Rock Steady, Reggae, Dub, DJ (rap), Lovers Rock, Two-tone and Ska Revival, Dub Poetry, and the present-day Dancehall and Raggamuffin styles. The World of Reggae is a visual experience about a sonic phenomena.
