On 10 June 1941 the German Government razed the tiny village of Lidice, Czechoslovakia, destroyed all the buildings, killed every man and many of the women, and announced that Lidice was forever erased from the map and the memory of the world. The purpose of this dramatic verse-narrative by Edna St. Vincent Millay is to immortalize Lidice. Condition: fair to good.
