James Adams is an American author and entrepreneur. Adams was born in Newcastle, England, where he spent his childhood. In 1991, he immigrated to the United States, becoming a citizen in 1997. Adams founded the Ashland Institute for Strategic Studies, a virtual intelligence organization, and iDefense, a cyber intelligence agency. He also served as CEO of United Press International. Adams is an expert on warfare and intelligence, and has written 13 best-selling fiction and non-fiction books on the subjects. They include The Next World War, The Financing of Terror, and Sellout: Aldrich Ames and the Corruption of the CIA. In 2019, he wrote (with Richard Kletter) Artificial Intelligence - Confronting the Revolution. He has also written on intelligence for Foreign Affairs and The New York Times, among other publications. Recently, Adams has ghosted a number of biographies of Fortune 500 CEOs. Adams has also served on the board of the NSA and as chairman of its technology oversight panel, as well as on special task forces for the White House on psychological operations and cyber warfare. Moshe Arens (born 27 December 1925) is an Israeli aeronautical engineer, researcher and former diplomat and Likud politician. During World War II, Arens served in the United States Army Corps of Engineers as a technical sergeant. Following the Israeli Declaration of Independence in 1948, Arens moved to the new State of Israel and joined the Irgun. In March 1949, he returned to Israel, and became a founding member of the Herut party, which had grown out of the Irgun. He began working as an engineer for an American company dealing in designing water systems for Tel Aviv. From 1962 until 1971 he was a Deputy Director General at Israel Aircraft Industries, where he was in charge of most major development projects, including the Kfir fighter jet project. In 1971, he won the Israel Defense Prize. A member of the Knesset between 1973 and 1992 and again from 1999 until 2003, he served as Minister of Defense three times and once as Minister of Foreign Affairs. Arens has also served as the Israeli ambassador to the U.S. and was professor at the Technion in Haifa. George Wildman Ball (December 21, 1909 – May 26, 1994) was an American diplomat and banker. During 1944 and 1945, he was director of the Strategic Bombing Survey in London. He served in the management of the State Department from 1961 to 1966 and is remembered most as the only major dissenter against the escalation of the Vietnam War. He refused to publicize his doubts, which were based on calculations that South Vietnam was doomed. He also helped determine American policy regarding trade expansion, Congo, the Multilateral Force, de Gaulle's France, Israel and the Middle East, and the Iranian revolution. Ball also served as U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations from June 26 to September 25, 1968. During August 1968 at the UN Security Council, he endorsed the Czechoslovaks' struggle against the Soviet invasion and their right to live without dictatorship. More
