Washington, DC: Regnery Publishing, Inc., 2000. First Printing [Stated]. Hardcover. x, 341, [1] pages. Map. Index. Inscribed by the author (Bathia) on the half-title page. Inscription reads For Randy with best wishes Shyam Bhatia April 2006. Some ink comments and underlining and marks noted. The authors were journalists who interviewed Iraqi defectors speaking at the risk of their lives. The authors present evidence that Saddam Hussein will not rest until Iraq becomes a nuclear threat to the West--a threat, they argue, that has been aided by the Clinton Administration's dismantling of United Nations weapons inspections. This work, which pre-dates the U.S. invasion of Iraq, provides one of the clearest presentations of assumptions and arguments that were the underpinnings of the policy of regime change and concern about weapons of mass destruction programs. Shyam Bhatia (born 1950) is an Indian-born British journalist, writer and war reporter based in London. He has reported from conflict zones such as the Middle East, Afghanistan and Sudan, and is a former diplomatic editor of The Observer. He has also served as US correspondent and Foreign Editor of the Bangalore-based Deccan Herald and Editor of Asian Affairs magazine in London. Bhatia was educated at The Doon School in India and Leighton Park School in England before going to the University of Oxford. He is a columnist for the Indian Express. He has published several books based on his war reporting, and a political biography of the former Prime Minister of Pakistan, Benazir Bhutto. In 1993, he won the Foreign Reporter of the Year for his coverage of the suffering of the Marsh Arabs in Southern Iraq. More

Sidney Stone Blumenthal (born November 6, 1948) is an American journalist and political operative. He is a former aide to President Bill Clinton; a long-time confidant of Hillary Clinton, formerly employed by the Clinton Foundation; and a journalist, particularly known for his writings about American politics and foreign policy. Over time, Blumenthal became increasingly controversial for his partisan brand of journalism, viewed as an archetype of a new type of journalist who have eroded the divide between the fading boundaries between independent journalism and partisan journalism. After the Clinton presidency, Blumenthal's book, The Clinton Wars, was published, historian Robert Dallek praised the book, opining that "Blumenthal's sprawling 800-page memoir of his four years as a presidential assistant" was a "welcome addition to the literature on Bill Clinton's tumultuous second term." Dallek also wrote that "Blumenthal brings a reporter's keen eye for telling detail and a columnist's talent for considered analysis and unmistakable opinion to his reconstruction of what he calls the Clinton wars." Time Present, Time Past, is an exceptional memoir about growing up in Missouri, going to Princeton, and, above all, serving in the Senate. It is a political book, but not a politician’s book. Rather, it is the work of a writer who happens to be a politician. Intelligent, surprisingly candid, and exceptionally well written, it is a love letter to America from someone who is aware of this country’s weaknesses and contradictions, but who is still optimistic about the future. When Bradley, at 52 a young man by Senate standards, announced he would not run for reelection. Married, with a college-age daughter, he has said that he never thought of himself as a Capitol Hill lifer, and that, while he liked being a senator, he was worn out by the need to spend so much time raising money. He was also underwhelmed by the idea of working as a member of a minority fighting the new conservatism. But he planned to remain in the public arena and was clearly thinking of the future and of a moment when it might yet be time for him to go tarmac to tarmac. More
New York: Vintage Books [A Divison of Random House], 1997. 1st Vintage Edition [stated]. First Printing [stated]. Trade paperback. The format is approximately 5.25 inches by 8 inches. xvi, 450, [10] pages. Wraps. Index. Cover has slight wear and soiling. This edition contains a new Afterword. William Warren Bradley (born July 28, 1943) is an American politician and former professional basketball player. He served three terms as a Democratic U.S. senator from New Jersey (1979–1997). He ran for the Democratic Party's nomination for president in the 2000 election, which he lost to Vice President Al Gore. Bradley was an all-county and all-state basketball player in high school. He won a gold medal as a member of the 1964 Olympic basketball team and was the NCAA Player of the Year in 1965, when Princeton finished third in the NCAA Tournament. After graduating, he attended Oxford on a Rhodes Scholarship where he was a member of Worcester College, delaying a decision for two years on whether or not to play in the National Basketball Association (NBA). While at Oxford, Bradley played one season of professional basketball in Europe and eventually decided to join the New York Knicks in the 1967–68 season, after serving six months in the Air Force Reserve. He spent his entire ten-year professional basketball career playing for the Knicks, winning NBA titles in 1970 and 1973. Retiring in 1977, he ran for a seat in the United States Senate the following year, from his adopted home state of New Jersey. He was re-elected in 1984 and 1990, left the Senate in 1997. Bradley is the author of seven non-fiction books, most recently We Can All Do Better, and hosts a weekly radio show, American Voices, on Sirius Satellite Radio. More
