The Rise of the House of Rothschild; 1770-1830. Egon Caesar Corti, Brian Lunn, Beatrix Lunn.
New York: Blue Ribbon Books, 1928. Book Club Edition. Hardcover. v, [5], 432 pages. Frontis illustration. Notes. Biographical Notes. Bibliography. Front board weak, restrengthened with glue. Spine frayed at top and bottom, and missing a small piece at center. Some page discoloration. Egon Caesar Conte Corti (born April 2, 1886 in Agram, now Zagreb, Croatia, died 17 September 1953 in Klagenfurt) was an officer, historian and writer and best-seller author. Corti came from an ancient Lombard family of nobles. He wrote biographies on the history of the 19th century and has been a specialist for biographical works on personalities from the European high aristocracy since the interwar. Egon Caesar Conti Corti was profoundly monarchist-oriented, as is also evident in his extensive work. Cortis Books and biographies stand apart today from other works of a similar kind in a specific way: on the one hand, they contain numerous original statements from the Zeitzeitzeugen, which still in Cortis Zeit still lived. On the other hand, the works contain historically unique sources. Conte Corti - the only author and their own, as well as noble - have access to their secret private archives, which are now closed again, some of which were destroyed during the Second World War.
